February 13th, 2012 {"the man in grey turned the page 13 time but did you see his companion, the moonwalking tiger?"}

dear friends, nobles, and across-the-pond-ites, have i ever mentioned that
we happen to be incredibly blessed, like really really really really
blessed. yes thank you imaginary man who responds to rhetorical questions, i
have but i think i'm probably going to spend the length of this e-mail
further nailing that concept into everyone subconscience. i'm going to tell
you all about a few (just a few because if i tried to describe all of them,
well it would take a long time) of the miraculous experiences that i
experienced this week. tuesday we went to go see kerry again. when we got in
there we were like hey kerry and she was like hey elders i have some
questions that i want an answering and we were like okay kerry what are they
and she was like oh let me think i'll just list off a bunch of questions
that are somehow "coincidentally" (wink wink) all answered by the lesson
plan you guys made this morning. (disclaimer: the preceding run on sentence
of a conversation does not in fact depict the actual conversation but
instead is a dramatization used to summarize how awesome the spirit is!) so
that was pretty amazing but that wasn't all. we then went to go teach the
white family and found, much to our surprise, that the white family was not
in fact there in its entirety, but that only dom was able to show up to the
teach. this seemed to be a tidbit of a problem because the lesson plan we
had studied out that morning was entirely focused around bobby. dom ended up
talking to us about how he's been depressed because of the state of his
family and because of the addiction he faces, and then right before we
started teaching he had to go out of the room for a bit to let a dog out.
elder day turned to me and told me that he basically had absolutely no idea
what we were going to teach now. this is what we like to call a scary
moment.  then soon after we were shown just how dumb we were to fear. after
we said a quick prayer to open the lesson elder day all of a sudden jumped
off with a scripture and started to explain it to dom, and then as soon as
he finished he turned to me and quite suddenly i started teaching. then i
said all that i could think of concerning that subject and as soon as i
finished elder day went off again teaching dom. we went back and forth like
this, not knowing what we were going to say next until the very moment we
needed to say it for nearly forty five minutes, step by step the lord
provided for us a lesson. the lord meant it when he said
that if we open your mouths and they shall be filled(D&C33:8),   and
that if we "treasure up in your minds continually the words of life, and it
shall be given you in the very hour that portion that shall be meted unto
every man" (D&C84:85)  by the time we left that teach dom had made a plan,
for himself, to overcome his addictions, and was set upon bringing his
family (including his nonmember son) back into the church. he came through
on that as well. when we went back to teach him on friday we were surprised
to find that not only was all of dom's immediate family there, but that he
had also invited his son and his family to come over. so we ended up
beginning to teach jeff and stephanie about the gospel and by the end of
that lesson they were so excited about it that they gave us their phone
number and asked (that's right they asked US) if we could possibly come over
to their house sometime this week and teach them some more. after some
deliberation (which consisted of us staring in amazement and gibbering out
some form of a yes) we agreed. and the blessings didn't stop there either!
we picked up another new investigator, named lisa, later that day as we were
out finding!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!
 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . i was quite excited.
in closing, i love this work and i love my savior! this gospel is true and i
know it and i'm going to spend my entire life trying to spread it!

i love you all and as always i love hearing from you with even more love
elder jarman
