dear amigos,
let's talk about epsom. i love this ward so much they really just do all
they can and there is not one of them that hasn't taught me or went out of
their way to serve the missionaries, and in most cases it's both. so we were
able to teach kerry winterbottom twice more this week and she is as golden
as they can possibly come. i actually looked up "golden" in the dictionary
and she had her picture there! (badum psh) in our first teach with her she
just went on and on and on about how she just wants to get baptised and
sealed and come to church all the time. my companion had to carry my jaw
home. all that is stopping her currently is that she needs to get married
!!!. i need to get you over here elder jarman the senior because you unlike
me are an expert at marrying people. her partner's name is christian and he
wants to get married "later" and he's "making plans for it", but currently
he usually hides in a back room any time we come over to teach. so we're
working on a way to show him that we mormons don't bite and were also trying
to get different ward members to invite the two of them over for dinner.
we've met some amazing potential investigators this week and we feel like
the work in this area is really about to take off. i'm so grateful that
president put me in this "dry" area for my first few moves because i have
been able to learn a lot about hard work and also that, well, as of myself i
can't do anything. we haven't been able to see the whites or alan and his
family this week but we're hoping that things with both of them will open up
more this week. i'm sorry that this e-mail is so short but i don't really
have much time to write this week. just know that i love you all and i can't
tell you how much i love the lord or this work because it's really just that
great.
